North Lismore Plateau rezoning

LISMORE City Council has agreed to proceed with the rezoning of the North Lismore Plateau to the next stage, known as a Gateway determination by the state Department of Planning and Infrastructure.

Mayor Jenny Dowell said the public consultation period had been extended to 42 days and there would also be further consultation with Aboriginal stakeholders.

The North Lismore Plateau is expected to provide 1500 new houses for Lismore with land releases staggered over many years and under the proposal, land would also be allocated for a neighbourhood centre, public recreation, environmental management and primary production.
