SYDNEY FC will not appeal the three-match suspension handed to star striker Joel Griffiths for abusing a linesman in the match against the Victory on January 26.
No mention was made of the incident in match reports provided by the referee, the match commissioner or the match review panel member at the game.
The club was only advised of the ban after the team had left for Newcastle on Friday afternoon.
Chief executive Tony Pignata yesterday said while the club supported action taken to support and protect match officials, it believed the process was inconsistent with previous cases.
