Nimbin ready for first drag show of the year

LEGENDS of drag Monique St John, Deanna Blake, Dame Stan Munro and the legendary Julie London as MC will offer the first Festival of Drag at Nimbin this month.

These globe-trotting international drag queen performers will host an evening of fabulous entertainment, as drag queens and drag kings from across the country vie for the prize of Nimbin's inaugural Best Drag Queen or Drag King.

The performers have had a huge impact on the world of Australian drag, having performed in thousands of shows, including the revered Les Girls.

Incorporating traditional drag queen performances, this is a cabaret-style event, with one winner achieving a prize from local fashionista Judy Who, and other great prizes.

Expect a world class standard of drag performances, including the traditional lip synch to the stars, a fashion show and hilarious stand up comedy.

Come along and be a part of this exciting event, which will become a regular feature on the Nimbin Bush Theatre's calendar of events.

To enter the competition contact Jazmin Theodora on 0427 822 128.

The Cafe will be open serving meals and coffee.

  • At the Nimbin Bush Theatre on Saturday, May 26, from 4pm to 10pm. $40. 18+.
