Nimbin author's 18th book launch

TAMASO Lonsdale dreamed of being a writer from when she was first able to hold a pencil.

The 84-year-old Nimbin resident is launching her 18th book, Out Of My Mind, this Friday, September 7, at the Lismore Library.

A published writer since the age of nine, Tamaso has written nine novelettes for teenagers, four books on Australian birds, stories, poems, and a trilogy of novels loosely based on her own life experiences as a child, then through a 30-year marriage, and the last book, Beyond Darkness, on life after leaving the marriage.

Tamaso has been an active and enthusiastic part of Nimbin community life; she was one of the instigators of the NIM-FM radio station, contributes writings and a crytpic crossword for the Nimbin News magazine, and edits a quarterly literary magazine, Beyond The Rainbow.

The launch is on at 1pm. Tamaso will sign books which will be on sale for $18.
