Nanna casts purls before twine

NANNA ART: Nature Abhors a Vacuum by Clare Twomey.
NANNA ART: Nature Abhors a Vacuum by Clare Twomey.

AFTER coming down from her tripod at the Doubtful Creek anti-CSG blockade, Knitting Nanna Against Gas Clare Twomey has found time to mount an exhibition at Fire in the Belly as part of the Lismore Cafe Trail.

A combination of life drawings and urban landscapes reclaimed by nature, some of which were seen at Clare's recent Lismore Regional Gallery exhibition, it's called Coming Down.

It will run until the end of May.

For further examples of her work in the Knitting Nanna school, check out various blockade artefacts and Thomas George's redecorated office front.
