Mullum Music and a Conga kid
Sanctuary Northern Rivers, a not-for-profit community organisation, has been settling refugees from war-torn areas into the Lismore region for the past six years. Since its inception in 2003, Sanctuary has assisted in settling more than 120 refugees.
It should make us proud to live in an area that treats refugees with care and respect.
But Sanctuary needs funding and the support of the community to continue this good work. Recently, members from the Mullumbimby community have expressed interest in the work that Sanctuary does. Some Mullum locals are considering settling families in the Mullumbimby area.
In order to raise the required funds, Sanctuary will have a fundraising stall at the Mullum Music Festival this Friday and Saturday, November 27-28. Look out for it and give a bit.
