Motorbike rider killed in two-vehicle crash at Marian

POLICE are still investigating the cause of a Mirani motorbike rider's death after a two-vehicle crash on Mackay-Eungella Rd.

Mackay police district duty officer Senior Sargent Mark Sweetnam said officers received the call to attend the crash about 3.25pm yesterday.

He said a 42-year-old Mirani man was killed in the crash.

The motorbike rider and a utility collided, Snr Sgt Sweetnam said.

"No other persons were injured."

Mackay-Eungella Rd near Melba House was closed for more than two hours as investigations were undertaken by forensic investigators and scenes of crime, Snr Sgt Sweetnam said.

He said Mackay and Pioneer Valley police crews attended the scene and left by 6pm.

Snr Sgt Sweetnam also said any witnesses who had not spoken to police could phone Mackay police on 49683444.
