ROCK CITY: Deniz Tek and Leadfinger are coming to the Lismore Bowlo. CONTRIBUTED

THE Lismore Bowlo will come alive with two leading lights in enlightened rock music on Friday, March 8, when Deniz Tek and Leadfinger roll into town.

Best known in Australia as a founding member of the influential '70s rock band Radio Birdman, Tek is releasing Detroit, his first solo album in more than 10 years.

He's touring Australia before heading to Europe and the US. Joining him on all-Australian dates are fellow Citadel label mates Leadfinger, promoting their own new album No Room At The Inn. Lovers of mellifluous folk-rock, Leadfinger are no strangers to Lismore and masters at finding rooms here, at least. That's at 8pm, for $15.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
