Misguided friends and family gave 14.2 million undesirable presents worth more than $750 million dollars - a 37% increase on the total value of last year's unwanted gifts.

Research by Australian classifieds site Gumtree reveals the most likely culprits for giving unfavourable gifts are parents (11%) and in-laws (10%), followed by friends (10%), work colleagues (9%) and siblings (7%).
