Missing elderly man found safe and well
WEDNESDAY MORNING: Police have located the 82 year-old man reported missing from his Corindi Beach home yesterday.
Police, SES volunteers and community members were involved in the day long search for James Winter and the man was found just after 6pm on Tuesday evening.
Mr Winter was located by a passing motorist who alerted Police.
The man was treated at the scene by Ambulance paramedics and taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus where he received treatment.
TUESDAY: POLICE are appealing for information to locate an elderly man who went missing from his home at Corindi Beach.
About 3.30am this morning, the wife of 82-year-old James Winter woke to find him missing from their home on Coral St.
A search of the house and neighbouring yards was conducted by relatives before police were contacted.
Officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command attended the scene and conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate Mr Winter.
The search for Mr Winter is continuing and police hold serious concerns for his welfare as he has a medical condition where he may become easily disoriented.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 165 - 175cm tall with a slim build, short grey hair and was last seen wearing blue striped pyjamas, dark shorts and blue slip-on shoes.
Anyone with information about Mr Winter's whereabouts is asked to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
