MILEY Cyrus is taking a break from social media as she works through her problems with Liam Hemsworth.

The couple - who got engaged last summer - are said to have hit a "rough patch" but the 20-year-old 'Can't Be Tamed' singer claims they haven't called off their nuptials despite admitting she feels drained.

Writing on her Twitter page on Wednesday (06.03.13): "I am so sick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn't call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media. #draining (sic)"

The 'Hunger Games' actor and his fiancee have been plagued by break-up rumours after he was recently spotted hanging out with Emma Watson and also seen leaving a pre-Oscars bash in Los Angeles with January Jones, 35, while Miley was with friends at parties elsewhere.

A source confirmed to People.com that the 23-year-old actor and the popstar are having problems but are eager to get past them and still hope to get married.

The insider said: "The wedding is still on. Miley and Liam have had some problems that they are working through. Miley doesn't think it's a big deal. She loves Liam and can't wait to marry him."

Miley was previously said to be fed up with her actor boyfriend being upset that she has been spending so much time recording her fourth album instead of with him.

A source said: "Liam and Miley are done. Miley put her career on hold to spend all her time on Liam. Now that she's back recording her fourth album, he's not happy. She says she's over it."
