Scene Briefs

Mick Daley (pictured) will front those finger-pickin’, toe-tappin’ country rockers The Re-Mains when they fill the Nimbin pub with their rockin’ country tunes this Friday night, January 29, from 7.30pm. Yeeha! Bring ya cowboy dancin’ boots.

The Richmond Hotel in Lismore will be jumping this Friday night, January 29, when the Rochelle Lees Duo hits the stage from 9pm. This acoustic duo (Rochelle Lees and Lachlan Renwick) creates the sound of a full band with just two voices and a guitar playing all the fave tunes from the 60s right through to today’s top 40. “People are usually surprised with the range of songs we play,” Rochelle said. “We’ll give anything a go.” (Music-wise, that is.)

Soulful vocalist Elizabeth Lord presents a night of bossas, sambas and Latin jazz accompanied by hubby Leigh James on guitar and vocals at Bang Thai in Bangalow this Friday, January 29, from 7pm. Cool tunes and warm vibes.

Dr Baz will bring his rich, warm voice to the Ballina Hotel this Saturday, January 30, for a night of his cool, amusing jazz tunes ranging from sophisticated Latin to acoustic funk. He’ll be playing assorted instruments and will be accompanied by Neil McCann on drums and percussion. It all happens from 6pm.
