Men face more than 60 charges for thefts

TYRES worth $150,000 were stolen from trucks, trailers and shipping containers in a sophisticated commercial theft operation, Sydney police have alleged.

Four men, aged 25, 24, 20 and 19, were arrested on Thursday following an investigating into the theft of a prime move and side-loader from two properties at Chipping Norton earlier this week.

Police allege that just hours after the vehicles were stolen, they were used to tow two trailers carrying shipping containers which held tyres worth $150,000.

During raids of an Austral home on Tuesday police allegedly found a number of items reported stolen at the weekend, a truck, which had been stolen at an earlier date, and breaking tools.

A Mercedes 4WD, boat, pistol, stun gun, steroids and documents were seized during subsequent raids of properties across Sydney's west.

Together, the men face for than 60 charges.

Police expect to make more arrests.
