Men charged over Indian rape victim's death

FIVE of the six men who stand accused of raping and murdering a 23-year-old Indian woman have been formally charged in a New Delhi court.

CNN reported the men were formally charged with murder, rape and kidnapping on Thursday.

The horrendous attack sparked rolling protests across New Delhi in the past week, including calls for the men to be punished by death.

While five of the men have already been officially charged, the court was waiting on bone marrow tests to be completed on the sixth, who claimed to be a minor.

If the 17-year-old boy is confirmed as being older, he may be charged alongside the five other men who stand accused of the young woman's rape and murder.
