Melbourne Cup high tea fundraiser
Nimbin Community Preschool likes to get creative when organising fundraisers. So far they've held a cabaret night, community fete and clothes swap, and now it's time for a Melbourne Cup High Tea in the Town Hall.
“We're focussed on providing value for money to those who donate to us... providing an experience, rather than the usual run-of-the-mill raffle affair,” Rebecca Ryall from Nimbin Community Preschool said. “This latest is a further attempt to engage our community, rather than just bleed them dry.”
Rebecca said fees have increased in the last three years and now the preschool has been forced to close one day a week to remain viable. Which makes fundraisers like the High Tea essential.
“We are constantly fundraising as the funding we receive from the NSW Government is woefully inadequate,” she said. “So, on that note, we cordially invite everyone to our delightfully delicious afternoon of decadence.”
The Melbourne Cup High Tea is on next Tuesday, November 3, at the Nimbin Town Hall from 1.30pm. Guests will enjoy complimentary champagne, a fine selection of canapés, petit cakes and other luxury treats, along with hilarious games, sweeps, and prizes for the most outlandish hat and best dressed. The race will be shown on a big screen TV at 3pm.
Tickets are strictly limited, with only 100 tickets available to this very exclusive event. It costs $25 a head. To secure your ticket, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
