MEL B has jumped ship from Channel 7 to Channel 9 for its reboot of Australia's Got Talent.

The Spice Girl is the first judge named for the talent show following her recruitment to America's Got Talent alongside Howard Stern, Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum.

"I'm having a wonderful time working with the America's Got Talent team and I can't wait to join the incredible line up of judges for Australia's Got Talent," Mel B said in a statement released by Nine.

"I know we will have a blast, and I'm sure some fireworks as well."

Mel B's poaching leaves a hole in Seven's X Factor coaching panel.

Auditions for the new-look Australia's Got Talent start next month.

"I would encourage lots of those amazingly talented Australians out there wondering if they should or shouldn't apply for Australia's Got Talent, come on down to your nearest audition," Mel B said.

"We are looking forward to seeing you shine and show off your unique talents."

The Queensland auditions take place at the Sofitel in Brisbane on April 27 and 28.
