Meditations on canvas

Drawing on experiences and understandings from her life and her meditations, artist Christelle Naude engages in a painting process that integrates the outward physical journey of life, and the inner journey of the spirit.

Christelle is a Masters student at SCU and the research for the work has spanned aspects of scientific discovery and the philosophies of Eastern mysticism.

“Through this process, it became apparent that the boundary between the inner and outer journey is no more than an intellectual paradox,” she said.

Christelle will be exhibiting her work at the NEXT ART Gallery at 89 Magellan Street in Lismore. The exhibition, Meditation and Materiality will open next Tuesday, May 11, at 5pm and runs until May 22.
