DANIEL McBreen continued his outstanding season in front of goal to push Central Coast Mariners four points clear of Adelaide United at the top of the A-League ladder.

McBreen scored his 11th and 12th goals of the campaign to secure a 2-0 win over the Western Sydney Wanderers at Parramatta Stadium.

McBreen scored his first four minutes before the break after good lead-up work from Adam Kwasnik.

His second came deep into injury time, with the game already won.

McBreen this time capitalised on a mistake in the home defence to curl the ball past Ante Covic.

The home side had a number of chances in the first half but were wasteful in front of goal with Mark Bridge one of the worst culprits.

Tony Popovic's men piled on the pressure in search of the equaliser after the break but theeir chances of earning at least a point slimmed when Jason Trifiro was sent off for a second bookable offence after a foul on Nick Montgomery.

The Mariners, too, had their chances and Covic saved from McBreen in injury time not long before the striker sealed the points.
