THE Gold Coast mayor says Justin Bieber should sing for his sins after the pop star graffitied a wall at an exclusive hotel.

Mayor Tom Tate is less than thrilled with the singer's conduct after he and his entourage spray painted cartoon faces on a wall at the hotel in Surfers Paradise early on Wednesday.

Cr Tate arrived at the hotel on Thursday morning with a graffiti clean-up kit for the 19-year-old pop sensation, complete with solvent, goggles, gloves and a scrubbing brush.

But it appeared Bieber had already left the Gold Coast bound for shows in Sydney so Cr Tate said the least the singer could do was return after his Sydney shows and clean up the mess.

Failing that, Cr Tate said the teenager should put on a free concert to make amends for his sins.
