Akmal Saleh will NOT be performing at the MardiGrass Comedy Show at the Nimbin Bowlo this Saturday, May 1, as advertised.
Though the gig was organised and the deal done more than a month ago, Akmal is now not available.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” S Sorrensen, who has organised the comedy at MardiGrass in Nimbin for the last seven years, said. “But I’m happy to announce that Saturday’s comedy show will be even better now with the appearance of Sydney-based comedian Rob McHugh and our beloved Mandy Nolan.”
The MardiGrass Comedy Show will feature the hilarious talents of Glover & Sorrensen, Rob McHugh, Mandy Nolan and Nick the Hippy.
“This will be a top two hours,” S said. “With Alan Glover, Mandy and Rob – about whom I’ve heard so much – I’m really looking forward to Saturday night. Just don’t mention the A word…”
Rob McHugh’s new four-part television series, Comedy School, will start on SBS later in May. Rob is a veteran of the Australian comedy scene. He was the resident MC at the Sydney Comedy Store for years and has worked extensively on television (Don Lane Show, Stand Up Australia) and radio.
The MardiGrass Comedy Show is on at the Nimbin Bowlo this Saturday, May 1, from 8-10pm.
Entry is $10/5 at the door.
