Marco Pierre White Jr apologises to Matt Preston

MARCO Pierre White Junior has publicly apologised after launching an extraordinary expletive-ridden Twitter tirade against MasterChef judge Matt Preston.

In a string of now-deleted tweets posted earlier this week, the son of British celebrity chef Marco Pierre White had blasted "fat f**k" Preston and threatened to "slap him up" over comments he'd made on the Kyle and Jackie O show last year.

During the interview, Preston had joked about 22-year-old Pierre White Junior's drug use and face tattoos, and suggested he was off the rails.

And the Whites were not happy about it.

On Monday, Marco Pierre White reportedly even revealed that the remarks had sparked his defection from the Channel Ten show to rival series Hell's Kitchen.

According to The Advertiser, he told Channel 10 newsreader Rebecca Morse he'd left Ten and joined Seven over the "disgraceful" comments.

"The things he said about my son in the British press were disgraceful," he reportedly said. "No one should ever say that about someone else's children. I will never forgive that man."

White added that Preston was a "canary in the coalmine" and vowed revenge on him, claiming "with my hand on my mother's grave I will get that man''.

However, the culinary star's son had clearly simmered down by the time he appeared on the Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning, explaining that he'd like to move past the drama.

"I shouldn't have said what I said - I was angry at the time, that's why I deleted them," he told the radio hosts.

"I don't have any problems with him. I'm happy that I've got the opportunity now to apologise to him and his family ... it was disgraceful what I said. I shouldn't have said it."

However, he couldn't resist one last dig at Preston.

"I thought it was very out of order, as he hadn't met me. For someone to comment what he'd said I thought was quite disgusting personally."
