Man pleads not guilty to Jill Meagher's murder

JILL Meagher's accused killer pleaded not guilty to murder when he appeared before a Melbourne court on Tuesday.

Adrian Ernest Bayley, 41, also pleaded not guilty to two of three counts of rape.

He will plead guilty to one count.

Bayley will now stand trial in the Supreme Court, with a directions hearing set down for March 25.

News Limited reported Ms Meagher's partner Tom was visibly distressed as he stormed out of the courtroom after Mr Bayley revealed his pleas.
