A MAN has died after being struck by lightning at a station in north-west Queensland.

Paramedics were called to a station 20 kilometres west of Normanton, in Queensland's Gulf country, at 3.17pm.

The man was found dead upon arrival.

The Bureau of Meteorology forecasted a possible storm for the Gulf country area for Thursday.
