Man found asleep in police car

MACKAY police have charged a 22-year-old Blacks Beach man after he was discovered asleep in a police car.

Senior constable Megan O'Brian said the man had been found at 5.30 yesterday morning with his feet in the car and his head in the gutter.

She said the discovery raised concerns about police security in Mackay, which would be discussed amongst officers today.

The man has been charged with being found on or left police establishment without lawful excuse under the police services and administration act.

He will face court later this month.
