Man charged over Bankstown murders

MORE than three years after two men were stabbed to death in Bankstown, NSW, a 20-year-old man has been charged with the double murder.

The Dulwich Hill man - who would have been 17 or 18 at the time - was taken into custody at 9.30pm on Wednesday at his unit.

Phuc Uy Nguyen, 30 and Brian Dao Dung Huynh, 28, were fatally stabbed during a brawl in Bankstown on February 1, 2009.

They died after being stabbed a number of times in the chest, stomach and back.

New South Wales detectives formed "Strike Force Gipsy" to investigate.

The 20-year-old was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged.

He is the third person to be charged in relation to these murders.
