Man charged following alleged hit and run incident

A MAN has been charged following an alleged hit and run incident in central New South Wales at the weekend.

Police allege the man hit a person who was crossing the road on Saturday (Jan 11) at Narromine, about 40 kilometres west of Dubbo, shortly after 1am.

The 19-year-old man was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital, before being transported to Westmead Hospital in Sydney, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Police allege the driver did not stop after the accident.

A 57-year-old Warren man was arrested at a property west of Narromine on Sunday (Jan 12) evening and later charged with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and failing to stop and assist after an impact.

He was given conditional bail to appear at Narromine Local Court on February 11
