Lost and found

Steve Futo from Melbourne can rest easy now that the photo albums he’s hung onto for 17 years have been returned to their rightful owner.

Last week The Echo ran a story and photo of the woman, who Steve had given a lift 17 years ago and who had accidentally left some photo albums in the back of his car. He’s kept them safe for a long time and last week was thrilled to be able to pop them in the post, knowing they were on their way home.

“I got a few text messages from people who knew her and then her daughter rang to say how rapt she was – one of the little kids in the photo is now 22,” Steve said, obviously chuffed to have made the connection. “Then the lady sent me a lovely text message saying thank you. It was sweet.

“It’s actually a relief that it’s finally sorted – so thanks to Jimmy Willing for suggesting I go see The Echo!”
