Local arts funding available
Small grants of up to $3000 are available for local arts-based community and cultural projects taking place between April 12, 2010, and April 10, 2011.
Regional Arts NSW has just announced that applications for their Country Arts Support Program (CASP) for next year are now open.
CASP provides small grants to arts and community organisations and local arts councils in regional NSW for short term, locally-initiated community and cultural development projects (know what I mean?) including arts activities as part of a community festival or event, artists-in-residence programs, public art and design projects, professional performances and more.
Grants are made available once a year, with successful applicants announced in March.
This year, CASP supported artist-in-residence programs at Northern Rivers Community Gallery in Ballina and Light’n Up Productions in Lismore; music and multimedia workshops at Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School; a Youth Arts Weekend in Uki; a six-week screen printing workshop for Aboriginal women from Casino; poetry performances and performance poetry workshops for Northern Rivers HSC students; and the Artscape Sculpture Festival in Byron Bay.
Anyway, if you have a project that you’d like to get some funding for, you should download the guidelines and application pack from the Regional Arts NSW website at www.regionalartsnsw.
Fill out the application form as best you can.
Then contact Julie Clark at Arts Northern Rivers to discuss your application. Phone 6628 8120 or email julie@artsnothernrivers.
com.au after January 5.
(You must discuss your application with Julie or another member of staff at Arts Northern Rivers before submitting your form in order to be eligible for funding.)
Applications close February 12.
