LIKE all mums, Melissa Sutton wants to be a good role model for her three young daughters.
But she feels something is holding her back, stopping her from being the best mother she can be.
Miss Sutton suffers from low self-confidence and is extremely self-conscious.
From the casual observer, Miss Sutton doesn't appear to have much about which to be concerned.
She is young, has kind eyes and obviously has the love of her family. But the scars caused by carrying three babies and a botched appendectomy have left more than just physical marks.
"I just want to be happy; I don't want my kids to see me down all the time," the 23-year-old said.
Urged on by her family, Miss Sutton inquired about getting plastic surgery on her torso; colloquially known as a 'tummy tuck'.
She was quoted $15,000.
"It's just too much," the single mum said.
Her family, however, didn't give up and has entered Miss Sutton in an online competition to win a free plastic surgery procedure through the Thailand-based company, Destination Beauty.
If she wins Miss Sutton would receive free plastic surgery in Bangkok and accommodation up to the value of $7700.
Her sister, Kelly, entered her in the Facebook-based competition.
"My sister had breast implants and she told me that her confidence has increased 1000 per cent," Miss Sutton said.
"Both of us are very self conscious of ourselves. But now, Kelly is amazing."
Miss Sutton is currently leading the competition, with 621 votes.
