Leith blows into Ballina

Damien Leith (pictured) is an Irish-born troubadour. His career went ballistic when he won Australian Idol in 2006. Now with a new album Remember June under his belt, Damien will perform at the Ballina RSL Club this Saturday, April 24, as part of his Keys & Strings national tour.

It’s been six years since he left his homeland, but Leith is feeling right at home in Australia. And it shows in his music, which has grown up and matured quite like this happily married, father-of-two.

And not only is he a top performer and recording artist, this talented lad is an author as well. In the process of writing and recording the latest album (his third), Leith is also working on his upcoming novel, due for release this year.

At the Ballina gig, Leith will play piano and guitar accompanied by violin and tin whistle. He’ll perform songs from his three albums.

Tickets are $40 from the club (6686 2544). Doors open at 8pm.
