Lee Kernaghan leads the 2014 Golden Guitar nominations

THE Boy from the Bush Lee Kernaghan leads this year's Golden Guitar nominations.

The former Australian of the Year received seven nominations for the 2014 Country Music Awards of Australia, to be held in Tamworth on January 25.

But hot on his tail with six nods each are acclaimed singer songwriter Sarah Storer with her album Lovegrass and country music gentlemen Troy Cassar-Daley and Adam Harvey with their hit record The Great Country Songbook.

Troy Cassar-Daley was the toast of last year's awards, taking home four Golden Guitars for his eighth studio album Home.
