AN L-plater allegedly driving unaccompanied while drunk veered onto the wrong side of the road and rolled his car early on Saturday morning.
The single vehicle crash happened at 2.40am on Saturday on Gympie Rd Tinana.
A police spokesman said the16-year-old Tinana boy had an alleged blood alcohol content of 0.136%.
The spokesman said the young driver only had minor injuries.
"It's apparently veered onto the wrong side of the road and then lost control," he said.
"The vehicle has then rolled and collided with a bus stop pole."
The boy holds a learner licence and was the only person in the car.
Tinana resident Greg Peters was the first on the scene of the crash.
He said it was scary to approach and look inside the car.
"I had to look in the car to see if there was anyone in there and there was still smoke inside," he said.
"He's just totalled it."
The boy was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving unaccompanied and driving under the influence of liquor.
He will appear before a Maryborough court in the coming weeks.
