Kids are a Big Joke

Kids are naturally funny. They see the world in a way that professional comics work hard for years to achieve. A world where adult behaviour is curious, rules seem irrational and a fart joke is the perfect antidote to any depression.

The Big Joke Comedy Festival in Bangalow returns this year from March 18-21 providing the perfect platform for the Funny Kids performance. Local princess of laughs Mandy Nolan takes a group of kids (aged 10-14) and shows them how to take their everyday experiences and create stand-up.

The workshop is about learning to celebrate who you are. Kids are taught through performance and improvisation in a group setting, then later get a one-on-one session with Mandy.

Workshops are on February 27 and 28, and March 13 and 14, from 2-4pm at The Drama Studio at Mullumbimby High. The final performance – the littlies’ big gig – is at the Bangalow A&I Hall at the festival on Saturday, March 20.

Workshop is $120. For more info email mandy@mandynolan.com.au or phone 6684 3443.
