Jump on the BandWagon
With help from Normal Television (NTV) and RealArtWorks (RAW), professional musicians and multimedia artists have been working since August this year on building the relationship between musicians with a disability, professional artists and the community.
Intensive mentoring, music tuition and music composition involving workshops and rehearsals have resulted in BandWagon – a band with many members who are participants of Realising Every Dream Incorporated’s (RED Inc) music program.
In July of this year the BandWagon project was awarded $10,000 from the Australia Council’s experimental music funding body, Soundclash.
BandWagon will perform at the Bangalow A&I Hall this Friday, November 13, sharing the program with some popular local bands – Fyah Walk, Invisible Friend, Black Ghost Party and more.
The gig starts at 6pm and $10/5 will get you in.
The concert is called Jump On It and signals the start of the VeryAbility Festival (November 28-December 4) – a multi-media event that is the culmination of four months of intensive workshops, mentoring, visual and performing arts, and skills integration between local professional artists, musicians and artists with special abilities.
