Jarryd Hayne to remain with Gold Coast

NSW Origin hero Jarryd Hayne is staying in the NRL at the Gold Coast Titans.

The superstar's agent will meet Titans boss Graham Annesley on Thursday morning to confirm the Blues centre will remain on the Gold Coast next year.

Hayne's future has been the subject of much speculation for months following reports he was off-side with teammates at the Titans over his "relaxed" approach to training.

But the champion fullback/centre had little choice but to stay with the Titans. His asking price of $1.2 million a year was far too expensive for any of the Gold Coast's premiership rivals.

Hayne's deal will be announced at a press conference on Thursday.

Hayne made his NRL debut in 2007 with Parramatta and won two Dally M Medals with the club before leaving to embark on an NFL career at the end of 2014.

After a stint with the San Francisco 49ers and a brief dalliance with rugby sevens, Hayne returned to league with the Titans in late 2016, helping the club to their first finals appearance since 2010.

He made his return to State of Origin on Wednesday night in the series opener.
