Film fest time of year again

From Friday, March 2 to Sunday, March 11, film buffs will be getting a treat of over 170 films plus the works when it comes to workshops, panels and parties! Yes, it's Byron Bay Film Festival time and there are several screenings in Lismore, including a documentary exposing controversial mining practices called Bimblebox. The cinematography is spectacular and is being premiered at Lismore's Birch Carroll & Coyle cinema. (There will be a total of seven films screened in Lismore over the weekend of March 10-11.)

The majority of the screenings will be held at the Byron Bay Community Centre. To see the full program visit where you can buy tickets to the opening night gala party as well - fancy!

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation  Riots of Passage in The Quad  as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
