It's never a snore point when relaxing at Palmer Resort spa

THE skilful hands and the smooth, soothing patter of the masseuse were working wonders. Then something he said interrupted my reverie.

"Snoring is the applause of massage," was the comment that, fortunately, grabbed my attention.

I say "fortunately" because I was seconds away from nodding off.

This would have been embarrassing because it was just a five-minute sample massage and I was in the room with other invited guests at a new products and treatment launch at the Palmer Coolum Resort's world class spa.

The spa has recently introduced the Decleor, Priori and Omnilux ranges of skin technologies from True Solutions International.

Spa director Kyle LaMonica said the new products were definitely worth trying.

"The Decleor range is all about pampering and aromatherapy, whereas the Priori is all based on science, so it's all science-driven and result-driven," he said.

"You're definitely in for a wonderful treatment whichever way you choose."

Mr LaMonica said the Omnilux light therapy, for treating a wide range of dermatological conditions, was cutting-edge technology that had to be experienced to be believed.

From the reception area, with a retail boutique, salon and gym to the spa and massage treatment rooms, the relaxation and fitness centre is

750sq m of pure pampering.

In some of the spa and treatment rooms, the interior merges with the exterior to create a feeling of well-being.

The spa provides guests with indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, a 25-metre lap pool, an aqua-aerobics pool, outdoor unisex spa, lavish men's and women's lounges with steam, a sauna, relaxation lounge and outside access to the pools.

Among the many relaxing and rejuvenating treatments available to guests is the revolutionary Sound Therapy Bed.

Mr LaMonica said music chosen especially for the treatment resonated through the bed, causing a vibration that stimulated deep relaxation for both the body and the mind.

"We couple the Sound Therapy Bed with a foot and head massage, making it a fantastic holistic treatment for physical and mental relaxation," he said.
