Italian backdrop to family drama

This week, the Summer Popcorn series of films presented by Norpa features Genova from director Michael Winterbottom.

This film is an intimate family drama about love and loss. It stars Colin Firth. And the film is shot in the beautiful Italian city of Genova.

“I liked the idea of a family being relocated to a new place where, since they don’t really know anyone, they are thrown together,” the director said. “For me the film is about a father’s love for his children and the children’s relationship with each other.”

Genova screens at the Star Court Theatre this Sunday, February 21, at 6pm.

Entry is $10.
