Irish dancing in Lismore

The Lismore School of Irish Dance is having its end of year concert at the Lismore Workers Club next Monday, November 23, at 6.30pm.

The school’s presentation of The Magic of Ireland is a concert for everyone, young and old alike.

And if you’re a fan of Riverdance, then this is the concert for you.

The concert will feature dancers performing hard rhythmic jigs and soft lilting reels.

Tickets are $15/5 at the door. For more info phone Glenys on 0416 224 258.

The Lismore School of Irish Dance also invites interested dancers to enrol for classes in 2010.

This locally run school is the only registered and professional Irish Dance school on the east coast of country NSW.

The school operates from the Green Room in South Lismore and has over 50 ongoing students. Glenys Ritchie, a qualified and experienced Irish dance teacher, offers classes for all ages from five to 65 for boys as well as girls.

“Irish dance is one of the most economical forms of dance to start off in. No need for fancy shoes or costumes, just enthusiasm and a sense of good fun,” Glenys said.

An enrolment day will be held on early in the new year. For more info phone 6622 4258 or 0416 224 258. Or email Glenys at gritch8@bigpond.com.
