Ioane one of five Reds ruled out of Highlanders game in NZ

WALLABIES winger Digby Ioane is one of five players ruled out of the Reds' bid to end a New Zealand hoodoo in Friday's Super Rugby clash against the Highlanders in Dunedin.

The Reds have never won in the city and will have try and end that drought without Ioane (knee), Chris Feauai-Sautia (thigh strain), hooker Saia Faingaa (neck), reserve half-back Nick Frisby (ankle) and utility reserve Mike Harris (hand).

Flanker Liam Gill is fit again after missing last week's win against the Bulls with a minor knee injury, and will join lock Rob Simmons, and the new wing pairing of Luke Morahan and Dom Shipperley in the starting XV.
