Andrew Dunemann has top NRL coaching job in sight

INTERIM Raiders coach Andrew Dunemann has a great chance to push his case to become an NRL head coach when he leads the team for the rest of the season.

But the former assistant coach to dumped Canberra mentor David Furner, said he was open-minded about where his future could be, acknowledging he was a candidate for the vacant Cowboys job.

"I want to be an NRL head coach, I've never hidden the fact," Dunemann said.

"By ruling yourself out of one, I think that would be dumb. Whatever one came up, I'd jump at it."

Dunemann also said his friendship with Furner had not been damaged by the week's events.
