POLICE are continuing their inquiries into an accident which claimed the lives of two teenagers on the Oxley Highway.

Kane Bramble, 19, from Port Macquarie, and 16-year-old Clint Ritchie, from Wauchope, died after they were struck by a Nissan Patrol as they walked east on the Oxley Highway at Sancrox, about 5km from Wauchope, at 12.30pm on New Year's Day. Both teenagers died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a 37-year-old man, was subjected to a roadside breath test.

He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where he subsequently passed a breath analysis.

The driver has been questioned by police in relation to the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A NSW Police media spokeswoman said yesterday the matter was still under investigation.
