A PRICE drop has sparked a buying frenzy on the last remaining beachfront blocks in the North Sapphire Beach Estate.

Owners Walker Corporation reduced the price on the 665sq m blocks at the weekend to $395,000 and has since sold four of the 10 blocks available with one more under negotiation.

The beachfront lots are located in a gated section of the 60ha estate.

"The beachfront release will form the dress circle of North Sapphire Beach and is aimed at families and retirees looking to enjoy a beach lifestyle in a beautiful natural environment," North Sapphire Beach project sales manager Robyn Goddard said.

"All of the infrastructure in the precinct is in place and buyers can start building almost straight away."

JUST two months after receiving planning approval, the elements@coffs new housing estate has attracted strong interest.

Blocks in the 34-lot first stage of the estate were released for sale two weeks ago and selling agent Jenny Bonfield said already six had been sold.

Developers snapped up the blocks to build display homes in the estate.

elements@coffs is located just off Stadium Dr, offering larger-than-normal lots of at least 600sq m.

Jenny said earthworks on stage one would begin before Christmas and it was expected the blocks would be ready to build on mid-2014.

The 221 block estate will be developed in nine stages.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
