Incinerated cannabis plants found in burnt-out home

AN ELABORATE hydroponic set-up has gone up in smoke in Sydney's north-western suburbs.

Firefighters were called to street in Carlingford where they found a home well alight early Tuesday.

Inside the burnt-out home, police allegedly discovered a large number of incinerated cannabis plants.

A further search revealed a hydroponic set-up and more plants underneath the home.

Witnesses have told police they saw a woman leave the home in a dark grey BMW sedan and a man leave in a grey Toyota Hilux.

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
