Husband and wife accused of shopping centre arson in court

A HUSBAND and wife accused of a multimillion-dollar shopping centre arson at Rochedale have fronted court.

Ahmad Raza Khan, 26, and Mariam Fadil, 21, both of Calamvale, are charged with arson.

Fadil was granted bail in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court this afternoon under strict conditions she not contact any prosecution witnesses, including her husband Khan.

"There's nothing in particular this client might do to interfere (with the court case)," Fadil's lawyer said.

The court heard Fadil offered her phone, iPad and laptop, along with pass codes, to detectives today.

Khan appeared separately but he did not apply for bail.

The court heard Khan could not attend court next Tuesday because of an urgent meeting with Immigration.

No further details about this meeting were heard in court, however.

Khan will reappear on November 16.

Fadil will reappear on January 10.
