Hunt for croc that took young boy goes on

THE hunt for a crocodile that took a young boy in front of his friend at a remote flood plain in the Northern Territory continued today.

Armed with rifles, police and park rangers have been searching a 4km stretch of floodwaters at Magella Ck, near Jabiru, since the boy went missing on Australia Day.

Police were told five children were playing in a billabong on a cattle station when the croc attacked.

According to the NT News, one boy was bitten and managed to escape but the croc then turned on his friend.

The injured boy was treated for injuries and later released but there was no sign of the second victim.

Two crocodiles were shot and examined on Sunday night but police found no evidence of human remains.
