How sweet it is...

ELIZABETH Lord and Leigh James will present You've Got a Friend - a Tribute to Carole King and James Taylor at the Uki Church Hall, this Friday, September 7.

With songs like Fire and Rain, It's Too Late, I Feel The Earth Move, How Sweet It Is (to be loved by you), Mockingbird, You Make Me Feel (like a natural woman), Carolina in my Mind and more, the show shares the music and history of the King and Taylor success stories.

Elizabeth and Leigh are singer/songwriters in their own right and have been partners in life and music for over 20 years.

The pair was invited backstage to meet King and Taylor when they were in Australia as a part of their Troubadour reunion tour in 2010, and it was then that the pair decided to create a show to pay homage to their idols.

"I was about 15 when I first heard James Taylor," Leigh said, "and there was something about his finger-style guitar technique and the beauty of the lyrics and melody that really took a hold right then and there."

Leigh met James for the first time in Massachusetts in 2009.

Tickets are $20/15 and are available in advance from the Uki Supermarket and Uki Happy High Herbs store. Or online at www.ukitopiaartscollective.com. Or at the door if any left.

The tunes start at 8pm.
