Wimbledon: How does Maria solve a problem called Serena?

IT'S hardly surprising world No.1 Serena Williams (pictured) is an overwhelming $1.14 favourite to beat Maria Sharapova in tonight's women's semi-final at Wimbledon.

Williams has 20 major titles to her credit, and is on track to become the first person since Steffi Graf in 1988 to win a calendar year Grand Slam after taking out the Australian Open and French Open.

The other semi-final will see Spain's rising star Garbine Muguruza take on 13th seed Agnieszka Radwanska who is in the semi-finals for the third time in four years.

Radwanska lost to Williams in her only major final at the All England Club three years ago. The men's quarter-finals were all due to be played last night.
