Horrific glassing in Concord

A 42-year-old man was left with horrific injuries after a glass bottle was smashed into his left eye while drinking at a hotel in Corcord, in Sydney's inner-west.

Police are now appealing for public help to find those responsible.

At 1.40am on Saturday, the man was in the beer garden of a hotel speaking to a group of young men when he was hit with the bottle.

He was taken by hotel workers to Concord Hospital where he had bone fragments removed from behind his eye and a metal plate inserted.

Police were contacted on Saturday evening and an investigation launched.

The victim remains in hospital.
