Home destroyed in overnight blaze

A HOUSE has been destroyed by fire overnight west of Toowoomba.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the house in Alfred St, St George was well-involved when fire fighters arrived.

The spokeswoman said QFES got the call about 11.28pm last night and fire fighters were on scene until 2.19am.

The destroyed house is still smouldering.

It is unknown whether any of the occupants were inside the house when the fire started or what the cause of the blaze was.
